There is a technology solution for everything it would seem. As people like mar and Adrian know working in call centres can be hard, hard work. People on the other end of the phone can be less than reasonable. An Auckland technology company has been commissioned by an Australian bank to create a robot that can help call centre staff deal with difficult, rude customers. They have collected the tapes of all rude customers - apparently the more bad stuff the robot - named Radiance- gets the better her reactions. Idea is that eventually when call centre person gets irate caller they can put them on hold and get some coaching from Radiance. I have a vision of the reaction from said angry customer who is stopped mid rant with hold music. Sure that will ease the situation before call centre operator comes back with a defusing response helped by Radiance.
