Brother kicks up his own storm

A second blog as I am thinking about Hurricanes. Conrad Smith was Hurricanes Centre, when he wasn't injured, for over 10 years and Captain for seven of those years. Now playing in France, like many NZ players.I knew Conrad came from Taranaki, Hawera in fact. On Thursday I was presenting with one of Conrad's brothers- Nathan. Nathan was a rugby player but lost his leg in an accident in London in 2004. (I am not the only person who is accident prone in London it would seem, not that mine was THAT bad).

Anyway Nathan with his prosthetic leg took up competitive cycling - so competitive that he was in the London Paralympics in 2012 - no medal but personal best time.

The reason he and I were speaking at same event is because he is a pharmacist for his day job (Conrad has qualified as a lawyer). This must be one driven and competitive family.

As a pharmacist Nathan speaks very eloquently about managing pain for people with arthritis - helps that he is good looking.
