Cold cuts?

Incredible story on radio as I was on my way to the airport today. A Maori group has been studying the commercial farming of a NZ long tail eel which is an endangered species. They say numbers are diminishing rapidly. And we're concerned. Became even more concerned when they found that the eels were being sold. As part of. A v expensive pet food - for dogs with sensitive systems ? They say this delicacy is made from NZeels amnd sold by the Addiction Foods company. Sustainable? Perhaps not. Bet the pets that eat endangered eels are also kept v warm.

Back in Wellington tonight and noticing the difference in temperature from Auckland. We have booked Maria to come down here in July before Adrian leaves. I am now not certain she will cope. Hopefully Wellington will have an unseasonably warm July.

We had dinner tonight with Una, the Eleys, Adrian and us. Lovely night at one of our favorite eating houses. The blue cheese and peanut wontons are divine - probably not to Maria though!
