Moving mountains

I know I've written about Ted Giesel (aka Dr Suess) before - but I like him. Apparently while working with his biographers, Dr. Seuss talked about his time at his university Dartmouth. Apparently when people met they shook hands and said: “ ‘Oh, the places you’ll go! The people you’ll meet!’” Sounds like it was a Dartmouth thing - you had to be there. Anyway

when he came to write his last book in 1990 those same words became the title.

I think some of the other lines are all his such as

"You’ll have slumps and bumps, bang-ups and hang-ups, you’ll be left in a lurch, and un-slumping yourself is not easily done. "“And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.) Kid, you’ll move mountains!” ...

And Oh, the Places You’ll Go! is one of the best-selling books ever! Hits the top 20 for both child and adult fiction. Dr. Seuss is recorded as The Times’ 17th best-selling author of all time.

The picture is one of the images from the book - and on display at the gallery around the corner from my office.
