A party without cheesecake

Tonight we visited Mike's mother's house - Mike and Bex were there. We officially acknowledged their status as affianced. Isn't that a great word? Comes from the French affiance which means a band. You can immediately see where fiancé or if a woman fiancée comes from. Bex does not in fact have a band but was excited by her new Birkenstock shoes. Mike is looking great and obviously enjoyed his Antarctic experience. They are talking about Wanaka for this winter as a base. Mike's family keen to know wedding plans so we eavesdropped happily. About this time next year and either Wanaka or Nelson. That is about the extent of plans
