Swell time

Last night we met Jenny and Peter for dinner They were in Wellington on their way to ferry to Picton. Was lovely time. Said our goodbyes and maybe see you in a few weeks. Ferry sailing was 8pm. At 10:45 just as we were heading to bed there was a plaintive text - ferry gone no where. Passengers being off loaded. Swells up to 12m in the Strait. Maximum swell in which ferries can operate is 6; level at which people start to notice and feel sick -3!! So Jenny and Peter came and stayed last night. Today Jenny has flown home. Texted to tell Peter it was 16 and sunny in Blenheim. Peter still here - swell over 6m all day. He is hopeful he will get out tomorrow but forecast not that optimistic. Waves inside the harbour have moved boulders so can only imagine what open water would be like.

Been nice for us to see more of them. Simon living in Tauranga and working in Te Puke; Clare still in London.
