A long enough courtship?

Lovely news out. Of the USA today that a couple got married. That in itself is not newsworthy. The fact that their courtship had been 72 years is though. The couple are both in their 90s now. It was during WW2 that the couple, started living together - 1942. Given they are 2 women I wonder how many years it was before they were viewed as a couple rather than housemates?I am guessing neither had their father to "give them away"
