Enough to make you wretch if not wretched

Hiya guys

Tomorrow as you no doubt know is Valentines Day. I know I shouldn't let it get to me but the crassness really does.

The Herald tonight is reporting on the top 10 pick up lines according to an on line poll:

1. "If you were a burger at McDonald's you'd be the McGorgeous."

2. "Wow! You're so hot when I look at you I get a tan."

3. "Are you sure you're from Christchurch? I can't see any faults."

4. "Was that an earthquake or did you just rock my world?"

5. "You must be tired, you've been running through my mind all day."

6. "Hi, I'm Amber, but you can call me tonight."

7. "I cook better than I play tennis."

8. "So you're in IT? When can I check out your hardware?"

9. "Let's make like fabric softener and get cuddly."

10. "Hi, my name is Doug, that's God spelt backwards with a little bit of U in it."

I hope that this really only tells us about the intelligence (or lack thereof) of those who respond to on line polls run by dating services!

I just can't imagine saying any one of these - nor feeling special and loved if one was said to me. Is it OK if you guffaw and stick your fingers down your throat as a reaction to an earnestly said "If you were a burger you'd be a McGorgeous?" But I guess I am not the target audience. So Adrian, as a target audience to pick up or be picked up - can you tell us if you try one of these tomorrow or have one tried on you and tell us how it went? A piece of research in the interests of social science?
