Walking Backwards into the Future

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately I'm not in the USA so this isn't the post you are waiting for! I read a fascinating article this morning about how children from some cultures have memories from an earlier age than others. The research suggests that children whose mothers come from a culture with a strong oral tradition will have their first memory from years earlier than those whose mothers aren't. Could the strong oral tradition of the Boyd clan be the reason that my first memory is eating raspberries under the bush in Seddon and playing with my Papa Smurf toy while dad mowed the lawns? Some might say the strong oral tradition of exaggeration in the Boyd family accounts for my memories of my first day of school but I couldn't possibly comment...

Today I am facilitating my first participant planning meeting, which I am looking forward to. I will be meeting with a young man with a particularly aggressive form of muscular dystrophy and his mother. I'll let you know how it goes!
