Changing the world one cup of coffee at a time

Today Mark's the end of Fair Trade fortnight in NZ. Wellington declared itself a Fair Trade City a couple of years ago http://www.wellingtonfairtrade.org.nz

This means that the Council commits to using Fair Trade products and practises. I guess Living Wage commitment fits with fair trade products. What we heard this morning is that Parliament is part of Wellington City Fair Trade and as part of that over 52,000 cups of Fair Trade coffee have been served in Parliament. Great to think of our National and ACT MPs supping Fair Trade coffee whether they believe in those principles or not.

52000 is quite a lot of world changing . . . .

This is something we do try and practice - we do buy fair trade coffee; might need to be more disciplined about tea. So far have only seen fair trade tea bags. My principles don't stretch as far as drinking tea bag tea!!!
