Proof reading is such a tedious task

Someone's worst nightmare happened this week. Calls to Thai restaurant in New Plymouth start first thing in Monday morning. Rather than requests to book a table or order takeaway curry the staff are fielding calls about rubbish collection rules.

New Plymouth Council printed new rubbish bags. The rubbish bags are printed with lots of information - including a phone number for information. Trouble was phone number was one digit out - giving you Thai restaurant instead of Council hotline. With 2 million bags printed it's a lot of mistake repetition.

As someone who often is asked to proof read material and for whom this skill does not come naturally it is something I fear.
