Common is not the same as normal

Yesterday we had a visitor speaker at church - Rev Sarah Jones from England. Sarah is touring NZ as part of her sabbatical from her parish church near the Welsh border. She is also a folk singer and has played at some folk clubs around NZ, but was not selected to play at Wellington folk festival this weekend. We can hear her play tonight at St Andrews. Sarah is a trans-gender priest. Pretty impressive for the Anglican Church I think as she told us over lunch yesterday that she had undergone her gender realignment before she was accepted for training.

One of her messages that resonated for me was that common should not always be mistaken for normal. I like that sentiment.
