Wellington unbeaten

Hi everyone,

I'm back in Melbourne and back to reality with only fond memories and a terrible sunburn to show for my 48 hours in Wellington. It was really lovely to see how easily and comfortably Ginny slotted in with the whanau; I barely got to speak to her both evenings because she was so busy mingling and entertaining the kids! A weekend of beautiful weather, good times and perfect company means Wellington maintains its unblemished record on good days.

Was lovely to get to see Jessie and her family too; in the 5.5 years since I have seen her she now has a 5 year old daughter and a 1 year old daughter! Jessie, her partner Mara and kids Kaahuia and Irihapiti all seem very happy. Irihapiti is a gorgeous wee girl, very Maori features but bright blue eyes and very red hair! Her father has the same hair and features but the eyes were a surprise to both parents. Kaahuia looks more like Jessie and her siblings when they were young, right down to her long white-blonde hair. Below is a photo of our friend Clare, Irihapiti, Jessie and me at Jessie's house; my sunburn is not apparent yet but this beautiful day was the cause of it!!
