On Friday this week at church Tony and I are both participating in a service that is based around a series of 14 paintings called Stations of the Cross. These pictures were painted in 1987 by a lecturer in genetics from Victoria University - in his spare time he was an artisit (and his son is the offical Army artist in NZ). Anyway these paintings in 1987 caused such a contrioversy that Bob Gauldie, the artist, was warned that he might be charged with criminal blasphemy. Bob Gaulide died suddenly last year on 5 April - which was his 70th birthday.

His obituary can be found at http://robertgauldie.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/bob_gauldie_obit.pdf and says much more about him than I can. Today I wrote a media release about the paintings
