Can I get fit by osmosis?

Last night was the Arthritis NZ dinner at Parliament to launch this year's Appeal. I do feel fortunate that I have many opportunities to be at functions in Parliament- realise this is not everyone's experience. We didn't have as many MPs as last year - the competing events were more attractive. Our main speaker is a 38 year old woman who was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis about 4 years ago. Having always been an athlete she went downhill very fast - but has responded really well to the new biological treatment - so well she is competing in Half Ironman competitions as well as marathons. Next month she is travelling to Greenland - she has been invited to participate in the Polar Circle Marathon.

Not only is she a lovely looking woman she spoke very well.

Photo shows Nicola as the fit looking one in the middle - Billy Bowden who we were finally able to present with his Distinguished Service Award (he has been out of country for most of this year), Suzanne Prentice (singer who tried to become Mayor of Invercargill), Alan Henwood current President for Arthritis NZ and someone you might just recognise

Lovely to have Tony there.
