Noah's Ark - a win for the private sector?

Having the internet has allowed me to catch up on some of the ridiculous news stories I've missed over the past week or so, here is my favourite so far:

Essentially, Republican Milwuakee Governor and fundamentalist Christian Scott Walker expressed his dislike for the federal government with the following tweet:

Imagine if Noah had needed help from the government to build the ark. It might have never been built.

Said tweet engendered a lot of mockery but also some fantastic replies, here were my favourites:

Noah’s Ark would never make it through a GOP vote: A large scale transportation project to protect wildlife, based on climate change.

The Ark saved five people, out of the entire population of the planet. Was that really a win for the private sector?

This also made me think about other parts of the Bible: was Jesus healing the sick for free essentially Obamacare? If the governments of nations around the Mediterranean Sea had been more lassez faire with regard to whaling, would Jonah have found himself in the same predicament?
