When being liked is not enough

And in reference to absolutely nothing else did you know a qualtagh is the first person you see after leaving your house?

Yesterday I was at a fundraising conference. I went to a few sessions on use of social media. Was some food for thought which is always good. Social media is obviously an important part of connecting to people as a charity. But the challenge for us, and obviously other charities, is that we can get lots of people linking through FB, Twitter and the like - but watching and liking - even sharing messages doesn't change the world. I liked this UNICEF poster for putting that thought into words.

Keynote speaker on the theme was young Brit called Tom Latchford - he is an entrepreneur who has raised major income by harnessing people through social media including Linked In.
