Guardian tribute was nice

Lots of mages of him as old man in papers but this image is more as

I recall him

For all of you the music of JJ Cale was playing through a lot of your childhood. Nana heard a review of JJ Cale once where he was referred to as "so laid back he was virtually horizontal" and immediately thought that was a good description of Mark.

News over the weekend that jj Cale died. Although younger than your grandmothers he was 74, so not a bad age. Note I say that when 74 is still 2 decades away. I suspect if it was less than 10 years I would be saying before his time

What I hadn't realised till after he died was that jj were not his initials he was John Weldon Cale. But John Cale was singer with Velvet Underground as Cale was making his break and he didn't want to be confused so he used jj - but why not JW? Too late to ask him of course.
