Rage, rage against the dying of the light

Hey team,

This is the first time I've been able to log-in to here from my PC, having been sans internet on anything but a tiny telephone screen for the last 2 and a half weeks. Loving the site Mark! I have noticed that when I try to subscribe to the blog, I just get a page full of html though.

Anyway, I'm totes blogging to let my two siblings know that I have booked a one-way ticket to Melbourne, leaving on July the 22nd. After years of vaguely mumbling about how I wanted to move there, a mumble that became a stammer following last Easter's reconnaissance mission, I have finally put decided to stop waiting until I'd magically saved enough (for some reason $3 000 AU is the magic number I have in my mind) to take off and just bought a ticket. I was initially planning on waiting until February to buy it (after I had done boring things like 'budgeting') but Air NZ had a special on today that let me do things like have a guaranteed free seat next to me (leg room!), take an extra 23kg bag (books! xbox!), get to use the premium check-in (not having to stand in line at 4am like a chump!!) and use the executive lounge (beer!!!). Following a bridging loan from my shady financial backers, the ticket was purchased and there was much rejoicing.

Anyway, when I arrive I will have the pleasure of staying with Karl and Livvie here:

I am hoping to have a job within a month and to then move into my own place somewhere in Brunswick, Parkville or Fitzroy... depending on price I'd like to live on my own but we'll see how it goes.

All exciting stuff though.

Anyway, I'm just back from Christchurch. The weather was mostly gorgeous and the ruins of the city much less depressing in the summer. Still shakes an awful lot though. Attached are a couple of pictures looking out over the Travis wetlands from beside Burwood Hospital, where our Muzz was borned.

Anyway, that's me.

Love always,

Adrian
