Poor horses

Tony was telling me about the British study that found 30% of riders were too heavy for the horse they were riding. Apparently a rider should weigh around 5% of the weight of the horse. Only 5% of the riders met that criteria a much greater % were between 5-15% of the weight of the horse which is satisfactory. It was the 32% of people who were more than 15% of weight of horse

We had a conversation about this and wondered if the riding schools need to start buying Clydesdale or other large horses so that bigger people can still meet the % requirement
