Leaning tower of . . . .Rongotai

An architect’s view of how Wellington Airport’s new 32-metre-high control tower would stand among its neighbours in Tirangi Rd, Rongotai. It would be designed to lean into the prevailing northerly at an angle of 12.5 degrees.Apparently Wellington is going to get our very own leaning tower.  It won't be a mistake like Pisa's tower - where architects didn't factor in the soft ground and built many stories so one side of building leaned quite quickly and continues to do so hundreds of years later.
Also won't have bells like Pisa.  Wellington is apparently getting a custom designed, intentionally leaning airport control tower.
It will be on an angle leaning into the prevailing wind.
More than 100 comments on stuff site - not many of them positive.

I think it goes well with Beehive for Parliament
