Jesus wept

Coming up to Easter it is not surprising my thoughts turn to Jesus.  Probably surprises me a bit that media is also having Jesus thoughts
Love the news from North Carolina where a church in affluent suburb has commissioned a Jesus statue.  So far, so normal you might think.
Statue is placed on park bench on church property and shows Jesus as a homeless vagrant.  Apparently you can only tell it is Jesus from nail holes in feet.
One woman found image a bit much.  After driving past she called police because she was "concerned for the safety of the neighbourhood". Caiaphus and Herod felt similar about the living one I would note . . .
Church minister responded “This is a relatively affluent church, to be honest, and we need to be reminded ourselves that our faith expresses itself in active concern for the marginalized of society.”
In reading up on this story I found Wonkette site - a bit like our own blog
