A new take on fast food

An artist duo in the US have created two art projects.  One is maps made from food of the country.  So Italy made from tomatoes; Brazil from limes.  Wonder what they would make NZ from?  Do you think Scotland would be made from haggis?

The map project is interesting but the guy took things a step or two further.  He read an article about some Japanese children who fried their PSP.  It made him think about creating an art show called "Deep fried gadgets". http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/06/deep-fried-gadgets-henry-hargreaves_n_1568935.html
He does say that he doesn't have enough money to buy iPhones and other gadgets before frying them so he makes a realistic mock up from art foam then batters and deep fries.  He says the significance is about the way we treat gadgets as throw away - just like fast food.

So next time you hold your smart phone, tablet or X box imagine it with batter and chips!
